Today Louis and I went to get some test footage for the first drop using the GoPro4. We felt that going out to practice with the GoPro was necessary as it means we can identify factors we like and dislike about using the GoPro. After watching back the footage gathered on this date, we found that the footage was rather shaky as it was all shot hand held. This influenced our decision to use a stabiliser and and tripod for certain shots during actual production. One factor however that we particlulary liked was the lighting. The weather on this day was sunny and clear skied which gave the footage a really nice finish and look. this has also influenced our decisions as to what days we should and not film on depending on the weather. We want the lighting our out music video to be similar however major lighting differences can be editing by matching colour in final cut. We are wanting to include a lot of slow motion within our music video and we have found the GoPro really supports this. The GoPro's setting can be changed to 50 frames per second which gives slow motion much greater quality. We saw this day as a success as it helped hugely identify problems going ahead of filming our real thing.
Next Steps:
- Get some audience feedback on the test footage
- Film some more footage on the moors
