Test Footage (GoPro 4 camera)

23-11-16
After undergoing test footage using a DSLR camera, we identified anomalies such as the poor quality of slow motion. We decided to experiment with a GoPro camera as they can shoot in 50 fps (frames per second) which makes the quality much better when the shot is slowed down. After filming with the gopro and editing the shots to slow motion, there was an obvious difference in quality between the DSLR and the GoPro. Despite the GoPro being able to shoot in 50fps, it unfortunately can't shoot depth of field unlike the DSLR. Taking this on board we have decided to use both camera when filming our music video. The footage looks better in slow motion in 50fps than 25fps because it runs much more smoothly.

  1. Important to mention here that the reason 50fps looks better for slow mo is that you're interpreting the footage at 25fps for smoother motion.
